The Youth Programs are made possible by more than 50
Episcopal partner churches and more than 900 volunteers
from those parishes who take part in the B-SAFE summer
program and the B-READY after-school program. We
have parishes that are involved in one or both.

About Our B-SAFE Summer Program Partners
During the summer, partner churches select a week or
several days at one of our six sites. Most partner
churches prepare and serve lunch each day for the 60
youth and 15 staff at their selected site. After lunch,
parish volunteers then read with children for 30 minutes
during Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time. Many
partner churches also plan and sponsor an all-day field
trip at the end of the week. We welcome back our
established partners and are always looking for new
partner churches. Important note: There are other ways
that parishes can contribute, and we are happy to talk to
you about your parish's specific needs and interests!
About Our B-READY After-School Program
Partners
During the school year, about 10 partner churches
provide individual or teams of volunteers who tutor,
present workshops, provide snacks, host holiday parties,
organize giving programs, are members of the
College/Career Support Team, and/or include teens on
summer mission trips. We are always looking for new
after-school partner churches and volunteers!
Other Ways to Partner
Prayer: We appreciate your prayers in support of our
program. Pray for an end to violence in the city, pray
that our staff will meet the children with love and care
each day, and pray that our young people will be open to
feeling that love. Pray that we will host safe, injury-free
programs that offer lots of learning and fun!
Financial support: Over the course of a year, parish
gifts and grants of all sizes (from $20 to $10,000) add up
to fund more than $50,000 of our $750,000 Youth
Programs budget. Some parishes provide a grant from
their outreach or mission committees, some provide the
gift of a Sunday or special offering, and some have even
organized mini-fundraisers. We are deeply grateful for the
financial gifts that many parishes have made in support of
St. Stephen's Youth Programs.
